When it comes to the holidays my outfit formula is very simple. Oversized top and leggings (or jeggings). The oversized top or sweater and elastic waist allow you to embrace the FEAST of the holidays. From there I decide on how comfortable and accessorized I want to be. Booties are a great way to stay comfortable or you can add a pair of pumps if your holiday dinner is fancy. My family has a very casual dinner so I’d be in the bootie group – or perhaps even slippers!!
A scarf is a great way to add interest to any outfit while remaining comfortably chic. Depending on the size and neckline of the sweater you may want to go for a skinny scarf or something more dramatic like a blanket scarf.
I usually wear oversized sweaters around the holidays so I can fit my food baby in there and not feel self conscious. On several occasions in my lifetime I have been questioned if my food baby was actually a little bun in the oven. Compression waist leggings, like Spanx faux leather leggings are a good option to keep you locked and loaded. I have the “wine” colored Spanx leggings, because, well, the name wine spoke to me! Despite the bad name they have been given I love jeggings and wear them often with oversized tops in the Fall and Winter months.
So I am sharing some of my favorite loose fitting sweaters below:
Is this similar to what you wear to holiday meals? If not, do you have a Thanksgiving uniform? I’d love to hear.
