Hello, hello friends! We are in the midst of quite a rainy spring here in Connecticut so it’s been a bit of a struggle to shoot warm weather outfits for you folks enjoying warm weather at home or at your favorite destination. Today I’m partnering with Banana Republic to share some chic spring travel outfits that will carry you through summer getaways as well. The pieces I’m sharing are easy to remix and get multiple outfits from just a handful of pieces. If I can avoid paying baggage fees – sign me up!
Banana Republic carries so many elevated basics. If you like to look classy and polished it’s definitely up your alley. I’m loving their focus on neutrals and warm weather fabrics like linen! I love that so many Banana Republic pieces have a tailored look right off the hanger. For all my fellow tall friends, Banana Republic offer lots of piece (including jumpsuits) in tall sizes!!
The travel pieces I’m sharing today are staple wardrobe items you can remix so under each outfit I’ll give suggestions for how to pair some of the pieces to get even more spring and summer travel looks from these pieces.
Starting out with a drop waist eyelet dress that’s super easy to restyle for whatever type of travel you’re doing. Whether it’s a work trip, weekend with friends, or park your buns in the sand kind of stay, this dress has you covered! While this dress is available in tall sizes, I am wearing the regular length (and I’m 5’11” for reference). I’m wearing my usual size 2, but if you’re between sizes I would go down.
Again, this eyelet dress is easy to dress up for dinner or dress down for strolling around town. If you know any brides to be, this would be a cute option for a bridal shower or rehearsal dinner as well. To get more wear out of it pair it with a denim jacket and cute sneakers for daytime and for an evening look add heels and a cute clutch.
If you’re traveling for work or you’re just that fancy – this breezy take on the classic suit is another pairing that’s easy to restyle. The wide leg pants can be easily paired with lots of tops and with heels, sneakers, or slides (I’d normally say flip flops but I’m trying to sound sophisticated for this post ?). I’d recommend a more fitted top since it will give a more flattering silhouette paired with the wide leg pants.
You’ll see below I rewore this cropped sleeve striped blazer. The blazer fits true to size, but if you’re busty and between sizes I would go up. Blazers look great over dresses (like the eyelet one above) and I often pair them with jeans to get a more polished look while staying true to my denim loving self.
I have found it difficult to find shorts that are age and office appropriate and that don’t look too matronly….until now! In denim shorts I have found the 5 inch inseam doesn’t appeal to me, but in these high waisted linen blend shorts I am into it! These fit true to size and could be worn to work (depending on your office’s summer dress code) or out exploring on a weekend getaway.
The lightweight striped sweater can be worn tied around your shoulders or waist with a casual dress or with jeans on a weekend getaway. I’m wearing XS in the sweater. It’s super lightweight.
I saved the best for last! Like I said, I feel most myself in jeans so this travel outfit is my favorite. I had been looking for light wash jeans just like this for a year!! Mom jeans is a trending term for high-waisted, straight leg, ankle jeans and I found all the pairs I tried before these really accentuated my pooch. I do wish I had gotten the tall size because when I sit down the length of the regular is more like a capri fit, but the waist fits true to size.
I’m not sure you need my recommendations for how to restyle jeans, but you could wear them day to night really just by switching your shoe options. One of my favorite travel accessories is a panama hat (this one is similar to the one I already own and comes in L/XL for my fellow big headed friends). Hats are great to wear to the beach or just to keep the sun off your face when you’re adventuring around town.
Do you guys have any upcoming travel plans? We bought a beach cottage last summer so we are eager for the weather to warm up so we can start using it. We just turned the water back on 2 weeks ago, but it’s been pretty rainy since then and there’s no heat in the house so sunny days can’t come fast enough!1 Thanks as always for stopping by!
And thank you to Banana Republic for sponsoring this post.
