Today I am sharing some funny family holiday photo ideas in collaboration with Walmart. Walmart now offers high-quality holiday cards that you can make online and pick up in store (or have shipped). I picked up my cards in store because it shaved a day off the turn-around time and I was going there anyway to pick up the iPad I purchased online on Black Friday. While I was at Walmart I grabbed a few stocking stuffers for the kids and wrapping paper.
Super easy – dress each family member in a tacky holiday sweater. A lot of the holiday card options have spaces for multiple photos – so each family member could showcase their own sweater pick. You could do a Jekyll and Hyde of each family member – dressed to the nines and then in a silly ugly sweater pic. Ugly holiday sweaters aren’t going to be a wardrobe staple for you, so Walmart‘s low prices accommodate this idea!
Ask a funny question – like “What are you wanting Santa to bring you this Season?” and then insert a FUNNY REPLY in a thought bubble above each family member’s head. Canva is a FREE photo editing site. If you want to do thought bubbles for free, I recommend using the “cloud” image. Next, insert connecting circles below it to the person’s head because you need to upgrade to “pro” to use actual “thought bubble” images. Here is an example I created for free in Canva that you could upload to Walmart’s Photo Lab. No, I don’t want this photo as a card. It was on my desktop because I am yet to do to my New York Fashion Week blog post from September :)….OOPS!
Nothing says you’re the good time type like some fun accessories. Your family could dress up as Santa, the elves, and the reindeer! There are lots of affordable holiday costume accessories on Walmart’s site. Walmart even has cute holiday headbands for babies!

I don’t actually care to be tasteful 🙂 but I did what I called a “business in the front, party in the back” card. I used photos from our Fall family photo shoot on the front and then put a less serious photo on the back of our photo card.
The quality of these cards is SO GOOD! It’s actually my first year having my cards (find my exact card here) printed on card stock (yikes, it makes me so adult). I always printed on photo paper in years passed because of the cost. Walmart’s cards are really affordable and right now the card stock upgrade is 30% off! Walmart is also running card specials that include:
There were a lot of cards I liked (keep in mind my style is generally neutral and basic, there are SO many other options):
I also loved this idea for displaying holiday cards:
Please leave a comment below if you have any good ideas so we can all learn from each other!
Thank you to Walmart for sponsoring this post.
