When I was 20 my coastal outfits looked more like bikinis with cut off shorts. Now that I’m quickly closing in on 40, I have shifted my outfit choices just a bit. A little more polished (sometimes ?) and a little more modest. Today I’m partnering with Express to share some coastal inspired polished casual outfits. I love the blue and white coastal color combo for spring and summer.  We have been down at our vacation rental in Florida trying to add a few more beds to the home and their winter weather feels more like spring to me! So I was excited to ship these Express outfits this way since I don’t need to bundle up to leave the house here. 

First this open blazer. I’ve always loved Express for workwear pieces and these days many of us lean towards business casual. This blazer is textured and perfect to dress up jeans or wear with slacks (I like the Express Columnist pants for work) to work.  I’m wearing size xs in the blazer and staple cami. The jeans are a slim straight fit. They are not so tight that they’d be inappropriate for work if you are allowed denim days at the office. These fit true to size (I’m wearing size 2 long for reference).

Cable knits have coastal vibes and this cute neutral sweater is good for lounging at home or out and about. The mornings have been chilly down in FL so I’m getting my wear out of this! For reference, I’m wearing xs in the sweater (also available in Navy) and the jeans in 2 long (my usual size).

Peplum sailor sweater coat!!  How coastal chic is this?  The perfect layer for a chilly spring morning. Florida’s winter temps feel like what CT has in store for me this spring. I’m wearing xs in the coatigan.

Pairing the jeans with a low heel gives them a more polished look without being hard to walk in.  The nude heels fit true to size.
