Hey friends!!  Popping in to share the hits and misses from the American Eagle spring try on I just posted on Instagram stories.   I have to tell ya – lots of misses in my opinion.   As a 37 year old New England mama I’m not ready for crop tops in March….in fact I won’t be ready for them in summer either.   Not this year…or even next!   So a lot of the tops, while cute, just weren’t a look I’d be comfortable wearing outside the house.

American Eagle Spring Try On

I included sizing info and opinions on each item under each photo.

Pink Cardigan – SUPER CUTE and COZY!!!   wearing XS.

White Lace Trim Top  – also VERY cute – requires a strapless bra.  Wearing XS.

Distressed Denim Shorts – LOVE these – the length and wash are just what I wanted.   I sized up one size (I wear a size 2 in skinny jeans and I’m wearing size 4 here).

Camo T-Shirt – I am between XS and Small in tops and went with the small so I could not this tee.  It’s cute!   Faded and soft.

Tomgirl Distressed Jeans – I also loved these jeans.   They’re a more rigid denim.  I’ve had trouble with sizing with the “Tomgirl” jeans but this pair fit true to size – I’m wearing size 2tall.

Button Front Cami – wearing XS – I love the button front detail of this cami.   It will be cute to throw on over a bathing suit this summer too.

Distressed Denim Shorts – these are the shorts I mentioned above that I LOVE!!!!  I sized up one size over what I wear in skinny jeans.

Button Front Tank – Wearing XS here I found this top to be a bit too short for me.  It looks even worse because my strapless bra is sliding down.

Button Fly Shorts – these are described online as a high rise but I found them to be more of a mid-rise.   They were VERY short on me and gave me a muffin top so I’ll be sending them back. I sized up one here.

Distressed White Jeans  – these were pretty sheer in the world of white denim.   I will be sending these back and trying to find distressed white skinny jeans that hide my undies and bum dimples.

Tie Front White Top – this top was too short for my tastes – but again I’m 5’11”.   It was cute – so if you’re more petite or looking for something a bit cropped to wear with high waisted jeans I’m wearing XS in this top.

Tomgirl Distressed Jeans – these are super cute – wearing 2tall.

Lace Trim Cami  – the part that is intended to sit under the bust hit me right in the middle of my boobs.   While gravity is setting in for sure on my mom bod – this just wasn’t cut long enough for my figure.   Again – this top would be super cute on a different body.

Tomgirl Distressed Jeans – wearing 2tall.  I mentioned above I love these jeans.

Wide Leg Capri Pants – I was looking for something a little more fashion forward to wear at the upcoming RewardStyle conference and while I like these I’m not sure I like them enough to keep them.   They’re snug in my usual size (2tall).

White Button Down Long Sleeve – this top is shorter than it appears worn here with high waisted pants.     I would only wear it with high waisted pants or my belly would hang out.    I’m wearing XS and covering my boob spillage from my strapless bra.   Do you have a good strapless bra you can recommend?   Clearly mine does not fit!!

High-Waisted Palazzo Pants – wearing my usual size these would be cute on vacation because they’re super light.

Ribbed Button Cami  – this top is VERY tight and short.   I will be sending it back even though it does look cute with high waisted pants.

Distressed Jean Romper – I thought I was too old for overalls but last summer I started wearing them at the beach over my swimsuit.   Now I love them!!   These fit true to size – I’m wearing XS.

Tie Front White Top – this top is a bit short but otherwise cute.

Military Button Down Shirt – a great closet staple, there are so many ways to style this shirt.   Wearing XS.

White Lace Trim Top  – I mentioned this top above – super cute, wearing XS.

Jegging Crop Pants – these pants were too low rise for me.  They also run super snug – which I like – but not with low rise pants that emphasize a muffin top.   I will be sending these back.
