If you’ve been following my blog you probably know that many of my outfits contain affordable gray sweaters. My husband actually teases me about it because more than half of my sweater collection is gray (the other half mostly white and beige ;). The snow was so gorgeous I braved the elements to share a couple more. I froze my shoulders off in this waffle knit, cold shoulder sweater that is only $23 and a gray cable knit sweater that is only $30. In this post I’m sharing several other affordable gray sweaters as well.
We had a snowy weekend! Just wanted to state the obvious :). I grew up in Connecticut but I think I’ve always been someone who prefers to look at snow from the inside. I remember doing a lot of sledding as a kid but probably because my friends wanted to. I’m averse to the cold weather. That said, I love New England and the changing seasons and I have no plans to leave. I did tell my husband this morning that I have the vacation itch.
The blooper pic!
Thermal Shoulder Cut-Out Gray Sweater | Jeggings (my fav!) | Over the Knee Suede Boots (run a half size small) | Chain Shoulder Bag | Beanie (similar) | Ring | Ring | Necklace
I tried and failed to hide that I was FREEZING here. Luckily the snow plow went by on the opposite side of the street so I didn’t get nailed with all the plow’s snow. The falling snowflakes made it tricky to get the camera to focus. I should also consider operator error. We are relatively novice photographers over here 🙂
My husband complimented this cold shoulder sweater. We don’t always agree when it comes to women’s fashion. This reminds me of my 4 year old who loves to wear the brightest colors he can find while I am a neutral lover. I paired it with my favorite everyday jeggings and over the knee boots. My over the knee boots are not made to battle the elements. There is not added traction or insulation in these boots – but really, aren’t they lovely? These boots fit snug in the calves so they don’t side down. In my opinion the boots do run a little small. I am a US size 9 and have the size 40. When they first arrived I was worried they were too snug but they have stretched a little and fit great now.
Gray Cable Knit Sweater | Layering Tee (only $18 and I wear it all the time!) | Fleece leggings (similar) | Snow Boots | Fur Trapper Hat (similar) | Mittens (similar)
Fleece leggings and insulated/waterproof snow boots are a must in New England. These are the boots I wear the few times a season when I brave the snow with me kids. I shared other snow boots I love in a previous post earlier this season.
Here are some other affordable gray sweaters that would be a great addition to a Winter wardrobe. Most of these sweaters are on sale!
I find even my priciest sweaters pill and last only 1-2 seasons. I almost never wear things that are dry clean only so that might be part of my issue. How about you? Would you be more likely to buy affordable gray sweaters or something more expensive in hopes you can keep styling it for a few seasons?
