The chambray dress – a dress versatile enough to take you through almost every season of the year. The chambray material is lightweight so you can wear it alone in warm months, and it can be layered in cooler months. Because this chambray shirtdress has functional buttons it’s nursing friendly too!
Today, I’ll be showing 3 different ways to style this Chambray Tie-Front Shirt Dress in late summer. All of my footwear is from Sole Society. I think the quality of their shoes at the price point they offer is tough to beat. If you have been following Pinteresting Plans for a while you know I wear lots of Sole Society shoes and I’ve never had a bad apple. They hold up really well.
I’m topping off the outfits below with my versatile Sole Society tote and backpack.
For sizing reference, I went with an xs-tall in the dress. It runs true to size but a little short. If you’re on the cusp of tall, I’d definitely go with the tall size. I am styling my chambray dress under this Free People sweater. I’m wearing the small but would have ordered the xs if it wasn’t sold out. Since the sweater already has an oversized fit, I would recommend going with your normal size. The Sole Society Lyssa tote I’m carrying in taupe (also comes in black) is super versatile and I love that it has a removable shoulder strap.
If you’re looking for a shoe that you can take you from the work week to the weekend, I recommend these Sole Society Slingback Heels. They are true to size, so stylish, and I love the detail on the block heel.
For a true fall-weather outfit, you can wear a button down chambray dress open like a lightweight jacket with leggings, a henley layered underneath, and tall boots. My Free People henley is sold out, but this one is very similar. The Sole Society Buckled Tall Boots I’m wearing fit true to size, although for fall/winter boots, I size up .5 to leave room for heavier socks.
The last and final look is great to wear during the in-between period of summer and fall. You can go without the kimono when it’s warm and throw it back on when the weather is chilly in the mornings/evenings. I’m wearing the Waffle Knit Cocoon Wrap Kimono in gray. I mentioned earlier that my tote has a removable strap so I wanted to show what that would look like. You can adjust the strap drop to your preference as well. To put some final touches for a transitional fall look, I went with these Sole Society booties (true to size in the color “shell”) and this fall-forward hat (ordered in size large).
Looking for more outfit inspo for late summer looks? I’m styling this lightweight leopard kimono three ways in this blog post.
Thank you to Sole Society for sponsoring this post.
